Questions Before You Book
A running list of what people ask us over email before their first visit to the studio. If yours isn't here, use the contact form below and we'll add it.
Is "fitting" here just a nice word for "sales appointment"?
No — we make a point of separating the two. You pay a flat session rate whether or not you order anything, the launch monitor data is yours to keep either way, and nobody on staff earns a commission tied to what you buy.
I shoot in the 90s. Is a fitting even worth it for someone at my level?
It's often worth it more at higher scores, honestly. Mid- and high-handicap swings tend to be inconsistent in ways generic equipment can't compensate for, and small fixes like proper lie angle or a more forgiving head design tend to show up fastest for golfers still building consistency.
How much of my visit is spent actually swinging, versus waiting on us?
A single-club appointment is mostly swings and comparisons — expect maybe ten minutes of setup and conversation bookending 45 minutes of hitting. Full bag appointments run longer simply because there's more ground to cover, not because any one part drags.
What if I decide not to order anything after the session?
That happens, and it's fine. You still leave with your fitting card and full launch monitor data. If you come back later to order, the session fee applies as credit as long as it's within the same calendar year.
Should I bring my own clubs, or do you have loaners?
Bring what you currently play so we can measure against a real baseline. We don't stock loaner sets, but every demo head and shaft in our comparison library is available during your session at no extra charge.
Can you regrip or reshaft clubs I already own, or is this only for new builds?
Most of our week is existing-club work, not new sets. Reshafts, reboring a damaged hosel, and lie angle corrections on clubs you already own make up a large share of what comes across the bench.
Is there a separate process for left-handed golfers?
Not a separate process — the same equipment library and launch monitor setup work identically either direction, and left-handed heads are stocked across every category we fit.
My new clubs feel slightly different after a few rounds. Is that normal?
Sometimes, as grips and your feel for a new build settle in. If something feels genuinely off rather than just unfamiliar, bring it back within 30 days and we'll check it against your original card at no charge.
Do you keep my measurements on file for next time?
Every build is logged to a signed fitting card with full spec detail, and we keep a copy in addition to the one you take home — useful if a club needs replacing years later or you want a second bag built to match.
How far do people typically travel for an appointment?
Most clients are within a half hour of downtown Fort Wayne, but we regularly see golfers driving in from New Haven, Huntertown, and Leo-Cedarville for full bag work in particular.
